Compliance

Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS)
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) was first adopted by the European Union in 2003 to restrict the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. A product is determined to be compliant if levels of the material used in its components are at or below the acceptable limits.

RoHS2 (2011/65/EU) is the current version of the directive and was updated in 2015 to include four additional substances.

All catalog products sold by Stafford meet the requirements of RoHS2.

Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH)
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is a European Union Regulation (EC 1907/2006) on chemicals and their safe use and entered into effect June 1, 2007. The directive governs the production, use and importation of chemical substances.

Suppliers of articles must provide recipients with information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) if those are present above a concentration limit of 0.1% on an article level. Stafford Manufacturing Corp. products do not contain any of the currently listed SVHC’s. Registration of articles manufactured and supplied by Stafford is not required.

As the regulations of REACH evolve, Stafford will continue to monitor new requirements and to take appropriate actions if needed.
